Immigrants in our midst

At the onset of the American Civil War, we had recently arrived economic migrants from Europe – mostly Irish. Come Spanish American war, we had a mixture of Spanish, Irish and Italian economic migrants. In WWI, WWII and the Cuban Bay of Pigs invasion, we had the benefit of adding a broad array of European Jews into the midst of immigrants we happily shipped off to war.

They got fed, clothed and paid in all of these wars. And when they came back, we declare our cities veteran free – so these battle tested veterans could move and settle in other areas outside our big cities.

Today, there are over 11 million economic immigrants in California, New York, Mass., Florida and a few other welcoming states. They are not only a burden to local tax payers, they are a burden to low income Americans who need jobs, housing and benefits to get by.

Rather than ship them off to war in Ukraine – where they’ll be fed, clothed and paid for their services, they’ve added the whole lot of 11 million of them onto the voters’ list.

If we need to see an abrupt end to the flow of immigrants into our southern border, I suggest we start impressing them to war in Ukraine or wherever there is a yummy fight to savor.
